Position Purpose The Senior Project Manager is responsible for portfolio and project management activities for medium to full rigor projects, having high cost and risk.
This includes project leadership, project planning, project execution, project control, and business results. The Senior Project Manager will manage process, data and technology projects within the region and globally.
The Senior Project Manager will work with Cargill BUs and Functions to deliver projects to enable business strategy execution.
The role demands a strong leader who can partner effectively with all levels of the organization globally. This position is accountable to understand the project objectives and demonstrate project leadership to bring about the desired business benefits and value as defined in the business case.
This role will ensure consistent project management processes & tools are applied according to the rigor of the project.

Lead strategic vision to the project team, utilizing a full knowledge of portfolio management and general business / technical acumen
Lead periodic project reviews utilizing a thorough knowledge of the project delivery process.
Identify, recommend and implement best practices in project management, based on expert knowledge of project management.
Build and lead project teams to achieve organizational goals.
Provide mentoring and coaching to project team members.

25% Project Planning
Define project objectives and scope, utilizing expert knowledge of project management practices and procedures.
Develop the integrated project plan for projects.
20% Project Execution
Lead the execution of projects with medium to full / high cost and risk.
Utilize the project management framework to achieve project objectives of delivered on time, on budget and realization of business results.
Integrate people and other resources to carry out the project management plan.
Make decisions and take actions to achieve results.
Manage project risks and issues.
Develop contingency plans when necessary.
10% Project Control
Regularly measures and monitors project progress to identify variances from the plan and make needed corrections.
Contains and resolves issues within the project that do not require project sponsor attention.
Escalate risks and issues as and when necessary to appropriate responsible persons.
Follow up for resolution.
20% Business Results
Communicate effectively with project sponsors and stakeholders on project status.
Work with the business to ensure the solution is successfully implemented and that the promised benefits and value are being captured.
Ensures successful completion of all project phases and closure of all aspects of project.
Capture lessons learned.
This role may require traveling, based on project needs.
University degree in Business, IT or equivalent experience
5 or more years experience of project management experience leading ERP, business application implementation projects, software development projects and / or IT infrastructure projects.
Experience with project management methodology and project delivery processes and tools.
Expert knowledge of project management, thorough knowledge of PDP, and full knowledge of portfolio management.
Demonstrated strong ERP, business application, software development or IT infrastructure knowledge and skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
