The account manager 3 is expected to establish relationships within their account(s) up to the CxO level, to ensure maximum exposure for Symantec and the strongest possible relationships.
This individual is expected to help their account(s) achieve those goals through proactive engagement with the key decision-
makers on a regular, face-to-face basis, and to work with the account to develop programs to maximize success. The account manager 3 is expected to establish a strong working relationship with and a reliance on the part of the channel partner upon Symantec as their most valuable supplier of products and services.
The account manager 3 is expected to be partner with their marketing counterpart in the development of marketing activities within their accounts, and to be the lead in securing an account’s participation in all applicable channel-
wide marketing activities. Strict adherence to timelines and deadlines is expected at all times. The account manager 3 is expected to work with marketing to evaluate and understand the value-
add of any and all programs in which Symantec might participate. Careful analysis of the opportunity and the potential return is expected before recommendations are forwarded to management.
Inventory levels must be monitored and appropriate stock maintained at all times. The account manager 3 is also responsible for the development of an annual business plan, in conjunction with their manager, which clearly lays out the steps for success for their assigned accounts.
Organize and lead an annual executive briefing, as appropriate.
