JOB OVERVIEW :

Communications Manager will be responsible for the definition of the external, internal and digital communications’ strategy for the company and the coordination of the engagement of the company with external stakeholders focused on the consolidation of Dow’s position and reputation, the protection of company’s right to operate and the support of businesses’ growth.

Based in Bahía Blanca, the scope of the responsibilities will be Argentina and the rest of the South Region, with special focus on the city.

The position will report to LAA South Region Corporate Affairs Leader and work closely with site’s leadership team as well as with other functions, businesses and workstreams (permanent contact with Geo Leader).

GOALS :

  • Media relations : Responsible for the company’s relations with Media in Argentina (and other countries in SR). Strategic planning and implementation of engagement (maintain permanent contact) with local (Bahia Blanca), national (Argentina and South Region) and international press (first-
  • to-call for journalists). Definition of corporate messages. Definition and deployment of innovative and creative initiatives of engagement and positioning with media.

    Co-ordination of Public Relations agency.

  • Reputation : Corporate reputation strategy planning, including matrix and heat maps for stakeholders’ engagement. Calendar of activities to increase visibility of company and Leadership team (focus on Geo Leader).
  • Give support in the coordination of the Corporate Annual Planning Processes ensuring efficient cooperation, strategic analysis and key priorities business alignment.

    Annual plan effective design aligned with local and global agenda and boost execution according to defined milestones.

  • Internal Communications : Definition of regional strategy of communication with employees and deployment of campaigns.
  • Custody of internal channels of communication. Ensure proper alignment with business and operational priorities and global internal communications strategy and execution.

  • Digital Communications : Responsible for the definition and drive of corporate and business strategy of digital communications.
  • Creation and implementation of comprehensive social media communications plans for the company and its businesses in the region.

  • Issues and Crisis Management : Development of compelling cases and strategic design of campaign plans to address business critical issues in order to avoid structural damages to business.
  • Follows up events that could affect the region’s corporate risk matrix. Track of social, economic and political environment events with potential impact on business identified and reported.

    Accurate and timely completion of forecasting and reporting tools. Defines clear and consistent action plans to tackle issues.

    Supports crisis management. Identification of critical and key issues. Reputational prevention and management. Training of spokespersons.
