The business cycle goes from the identification, selection, origination and execution of investment transactions (i.e. loans, guarantees, equity and quasi-
equity) to their monitoring in the following segments : Infrastructure & Energy : Energy, Transport, Water & Sanitation and Social Infrastructure (Health and Education).
Corporates : Agribusiness, TMT (Telecoms, Media and Technology), Tourism and Manufacture. Financial Institutions : Banks, Financial Inclusion and Investment Funds.
Financial Products & Services : Capital Markets Solutions, Trade & Supply Chain Finance, Resource Mobilization and Equity Instruments.
Advisory Services and Blended Finance : Climate Change, Blended Finance, Gender and Public Private Partnerships Main Activities : The Advisory Services and Blended Finance Team (the Team) works closely with the Investment Operations Department’s divisions to prepare impactful projects, mainstreaming sustainability considerations, supporting champions in specific sectors through knowledge products and outreach activities, and influencing the market through publications, conferences and other activities.
The Team also manages third party funds for blended finance solutions. As part of its activities, the Team provides advice to increase the bankability of infrastructure projects developed under a Public-
Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. To achieve this goal, the Team partners with public entities in charge of structuring PPP projects (such as Ministries of Finance, PPP Units and Investment Promotion Agencies), and provides them support for structuring and implementing PPP transactions across all infrastructure sectors.
The Team also assists private clients interested in preparing unsolicited proposals for national and subnational governments.
Assist during the execution of PPP advisory engagements. This entails supporting the team leader during the development of PPP contracts and tender documents, risk matrixes, defining financial structure and legal framework, among others.
Support the team leader in the implementation of a PPP business development strategy. This includes the design of an operational manual, identify and categorize main public and private actors in the PPP market in LAC, analysis of infrastructure sectors where PPP Advisory Services can provide the maximum development impact, among other activities.
Collaborate in the development of presentations, reports, spreadsheets, memos and all other documentation related to PPP advisory engagements.
Support the execution of other related advisory services activities including : writing terms of reference, identifying local / international consultants for projects, conducting case studies, producing fact sheets, monitoring project milestones, and evaluating project results.
Support the development of a knowledge and communications strategy to capture and share the lessons learned from projects and promote their replication.
Support the design of PPP database. Qualifications : Education : Graduate degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or International Relations.
Experience : A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience at a financial institution, corporation, investment fund, multilateral development institution or other private sector entity is required.
Languages : Proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Working knowledge of Portuguese and / or French will be considered a plus.
