While Brazil remains the largest economy in Latin America, other major countries in the region are also significant contributors.
Mexico alone has a GDP which represents two thirds of Brazil’s. BNP Paribas has a historical footprint in the Hispanic Latin America.
The Bank has been in the region since 1914 and is now present in 5 countries with nearly 2000 employees between CIB and International Financial Services.

The Trade & Treasury Solutions (T&TS) division provides solutions to improve and optimize the working capital of financial institutions and corporate clients worldwide.

Global Trade Solutions (GTS) is to provide clients with services and tailored solutions to increase liquidity, mitigate risk and optimize working capital.

Responsibilities : As a Trade & Treasury Solution (T&TS) Manager, the officer is responsible for the origination, structuring, execution and monitoring of T&TS products in his geographic perimeter. This notably includes :
In coordination with Coverage teams, propose and perform the commercial strategy and budget, notably with the objective of adding T&TS clients and optimizing return on existing ones.
Proactively identify and originate GTS products around Traditional Trade Solution (Documentary LC’s, Performance and trade SBLC, Guarantees and related confirmation, discount ), Supply Chain Management Solutions (Inventory, Receivables, Payables) and Structured Trade Finance (Import Loans, Pre-
Export Loans, Borrowing Base Loans ).
Proactively identify and sell liquidity and cash management products in concert with the product specialist dedicated to Hispanic Latin America.
Market available electronic banking platform and contribute to their evolution.
Promote the activities of Trade Center network which includes notably local reissuance of SBLCs / Guarantees for BNPP entities.
Maintain pipeline and portfolio reporting.
Contribute, in concert with the New York-based GTS Structuring Group, to high quality support memos that meet GRM’s expectations;
and assist coverage in the credit process.
Ensure the proper structuring, execution and monitoring of transactions (implying interactions with Insurance Group, Credit management, Risk, ALM, middle and back office, ).
Maintain a permanent market intelligence that is relevant for our products.
Travel within the covered area (notably to Chile and Peru) to ensure that clients and prospects are fully covered and to meet regional sales goals.
Specific expectations :
Redevelop a comprehensive T&TS franchise in the Southern Cone.
Constantly aim at optimizing the bank’s return indicators (RAROC, EVC, ).
Promote OtD and non risk fee business.
Prioritize our value added products over vanilla ones when possible.
Promote a sustainability content in our transactions.
In the treasury activity, promote operational DDAs and cash management mandate and market those product in conjunction with our financing proposal example : opening DDA to collect receivables .
Organisation & workflows :
On the origination / marketing side, the Trade & Treasury Manager will work in close coordination with the Relationship Managers (Coverage group).
The Trade & Treasury Manager will benefits from the assistance of the NY based GTS Structuring Group for certain duties, notably : preparation of pitches, portfolio analysis, transaction structuring, term-
sheet preparation, credit process (support memo preparation), transaction execution, transaction monitoring.
The middle-office duties related to the cross-border T&TS activities will essentially be assumed by the NY based T&TS Transaction Support Group, including notably the interactions with back-
offices, client onboarding teams in Latin America and NY, the IT systems, Loan Servicing, Credit Risk Control ; administrative monitoring and maintenance of credit facilities (ex : preparation of Loan Summaries), account opening (interaction with Client Service Desk).
As for transactions booked in Argentina, such duties will be assumed by local middle-office teams. The Trade & Treasury manager will bring any needed assistance to those teams.
Degree level education with preference for finance / economics / business. Post graduate education (MBA, or equivalent) preferred.
7+ years of banking or similar finance experience with a good general knowledge of international business and its practices.
Track record of identifying and structuring complex trade transactions across multiple geographies and legal jurisdictions.
Very strong problem solving skills that can be translated into financial structures with an emphasis on mitigating credit and transaction risks under various trade financing structures.
Understanding of working capital management principles and latest requirements in trade traditional and supply chain finance.
Understanding of both domestic & international cash management
Understanding of deposit structures and related liquidity management drivers for corporate clients
Understanding of Latam and US markets (both at borrowers and investors’ levels).
Aptitude for understanding and applying legal documentation.
Good internal and external client marketing and service skills, including strong written and interpersonal communications skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with strong capacity for autonomy after given direction.
Self-starter, highly sales oriented and entrepreneurial.
Resilient and committed able to deliver within tight deadlines and under pressure, flexible over working hours and prepare to travel overseas.
Language skills (minimum fluency in Spanish and English) and international assignments preferred.
