Position Description : Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and processing of monthly payroll runs for various countries in Latin America
  • Benefit administration (healthcare, life / disable insurance, fringe benefits etc.) in various countries in LAM
  • Reconciliation, balancing and transmission of all payroll related data to payroll vendor
  • Balancing and review of all payroll output and result as well as completing all controls and checks in accordance to local regulations, SOX guidelines and Flowserve’s global payroll procedures and best practices
  • Investigation and correction of errors associated with the auditing of payroll data before the payroll cycle is finalized
  • Communication with employees on payroll related matters
  • Processing of all types of payments and deductions, including wage loans, payroll adjustments, benefit adjustments, and special payments (bonus awards, gross-
  • ups, per diems, incentives, stock options etc.)

  • Preparation and processing of manual, supplementary, and off-cycle payments
  • Statutory and third party payments and reporting / filing according to local regulations in each country / location
  • Ensuring all data is accurately compiled and sent to Payroll Vendor according to payroll schedule on the agreed frequency
  • Processing adjustments related to terminated employees, such as payments after leaving, recovery of advance payments / loans, special payment packages in case of redundancy etc.
  • Liaising on a regular basis with other teams and vendors in cooperation to ensure actions and issues are followed through and resolved
  • Maintaining and developing country procedures to ensure alignment with HR policy and local legislative compliance, propose changes for improvement
  • Agreeing on payroll schedules and calendars with payroll vendor in accordance with local regulations and Flowserve’s global payroll procedures and best practices
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining desktop procedures for all payroll and benefit processes in accordance with local regulations and Flowserve’s global payroll procedures and best practices
  • Assisting in the testing of all system, tax updates, version upgrades and enhancements to the systems as needed
  • Acting as a back-up for other payroll operations within Latin America region upon demand
  • Position Requirements :

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish (any other language is a benefit)
  • Knowledge of local labor laws
  • Knowledge of the payroll labor laws of another Latin America country is a plus
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills; high attention to detail
  • Excellent research and problem solving skills; ability to complete root cause analysis
  • Great customer service skills with employees even in conflict and complaint situations
  • Ability to plan, organize and schedule duties to meet payroll processing deadlines
  • Ability to process a high volume of detailed work in a short time frame and meet strict production deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and work diligently under pressure
  • Ability to identify possible issues in a timely manner and escalate to the right resource
  • Flexibility in regards to working patterns in payroll peak periods
  • Ability to building strong work relationships within Flowserve as well as payroll and other third party partners
  • Preferences :

  • The candidate will be able to participate in the global payroll project and be involved in process improvement and re-engineering
  • In this role the candidate will develop further result-driven expertise competencies, specifically in the area of end-to-
  • end process design, documentation, training, monitoring as well as vendor relationship management
