Delivers and deploys HSE / SA audits and regional program as per the HSE / SA Internal Group Audit Program to the Divisions, Functions and Local Business Units.
Provides analysis of HSE Assurance data within area of responsibility. Reports on progress on implementation of Sustainability Objectives and key performance indicators (KPI) as required
Contributes to assessing risk in relation to emerging trends and legislation in HSE / SA and communicates relevant information on legal requirements within area of expertise and geography.
Supports constituent countries to operate in compliance with standards and respective legal obligations.
Identifies risk through audit and assurance activities. Delivers audit (as per Group Internal HSE / SA Audit Program) and supports follow up of improvement actions in the Local Business Units.
Cooperates across functions and with business partners to raise awareness and drive performance, engages with internal and external stakeholders to build commitment and credibility for the CoE.
Contributes to driving behavioral change and continuous improvement though delivery of audit and expert support to the Local Business Units in line with yearly HSE plan agreed with the Business Units.
Supports the sharing of best practice. Delivers training and support where required to improve business and assurance performance.
Contributes to and / or plans and executes Health, Safety and Environment performance and Corporate Responsibility related projects.
Develops and reports on project objectives. Manages project resources such as manpower, financials and other relevant factors.
This role has some specific accountabilities related to the Group Internal HSE / SA Audit Program :
Decides, in coordination with ABB's HSE Assurance Group, where to audit based on risk and coordinates activities with external auditors and the business to ensure proper audit coverage and eliminate duplication of efforts.
Identifies topics and themes to audit against in conjunction with the businesses based on the risk and profile of the business and entire group / region.
Leads or oversees HSE audits (approx. 25 40 per year). Support the auditors and the business in ensuring consistency of auditing in region against global standards, and acts as arbitrator between audit team and businesses where required.
Evaluates and focuses on key issues, and reports periodically to Region management and Group HSE Audit & Assurance Manager.
Identifies and assigns audit teams based on assessment of skills, competence and strengths to maximize value to the organization.
As a member of ABB’s global HSE / SA assurance management team participates in and supports the development of ABB's global internal HSE / SA Audit strategy.
Integrates new audit methods into working practices throughout the Region.
For this position you must hold a bachelor’s degree EHS / engineering or health and safety related and 12 years’ experience working at a senior level in HSE within a global organization.
Preferably, to have a good understanding of OHSAS18001 : 2007 & ISO14001 : 2014. Demonstrated audit experience both as part of an audit team and as lead.
Recognized Auditor Qualification (e.g. IRCA). Behaviors and attitudes in line with ISO19011. Fluent in English and Spanish Languages.
