The Solution Management and Product Strategy group within the Oracle Food & Beverage Global Business Unit is comprised of F&B industry experts with strong hospitality solution knowledge and solution marketing expertise.

The main goals of this team are to capture market and solution requirements, define the strategic business plans and investment agenda, and build targeted market offers.

The group is measured by plan attainment, growth in market share, and customer success.

Position Description

This opening is for a Solution Manager focused on unique legal, fiscal and regional business requirements to help ensure our products meet the markets we server.

The Solution Manager works as part of a small, high-calibre team focused on building localization requirements into the core Food and Beverage platform.

This role will combine the knowledge of the food and beverage industry and product strategy to ensure the platform supports global market needs.

The localization Solution Manager's primary focus is on inbound product planning and legal watch including country, cross-

region and global requirements with significant focus on field and customer enablement as it relates to globalization and legal requirements for their assigned regions.

They work closely with regional sales and consulting teams to define market priorities. They work very closely with Agile Development Scrum teams to ensure alignment between market requirements and the software code delivered.

The most successful Solution Managers have both deep and broad product / market expertise, and have the ability to focus on a single area or cover a wide variety of solutions as needed depending upon the roadmap investment priorities.

Solution Managers are leaders within the organization and evangelists for their particular product area.

The Solution Manager is responsible for the following solution deliverables :

  • Localization Business Requirement Documents
  • Business cases, Legal Compliance White Papers, Statements of Direction, Legislative Notes and Global Readiness Scorecard by Product
  • Product Life Cycle Management incl. strategic Roadmap, Launches, Updates
  • Product Introductions and Marketing Announcements
  • Market specific solution collateral for Pre-Sales, i.e. Advocated Offers
  • Pricing for Product / Service / Solution / Portfolio
  • In addition to the above activities, the role will be involved in top opportunity pre-sales activities and key customer engagements (i.

    e. piloting) to drive customer success as necessary. Within Solution Management, the role collaborates with the Solution Directors and Solution Marketing roles to help influence all aspects of the solutions.

    The Solution Manager directly reports to the Solution Director within the F&B strategy unit to ensure this role has the visibility and access to decision makers.

    In addition, the Solution Manager is deeply involved with the Development Group and, in particular, the Functional Architect role to ensure the vision and requirements are delivered in the product releases.

    Job Requirements

    Work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced technical / business skills in areas of specialization, in particular with fiscal and localization.

    This role requires F&B domain expertise as well as strong presentation and communication skills. Prior experience with Strategy and Product Management functions is a plus.

    At least 4+ years of relevant software experience is preferred. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiating skills with both internal and external resources required.

    The ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion is required. BA / BS or MS degree (or equivalent) in related field.

    Detailed Description and Job Requirements

    Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution.

    Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project / product on schedule and within budget.

    As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications.

    Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral.

    Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

    Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel.

    BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
