  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Ensures that teams deliver desired outcomes in complex, fast moving business and regulatory environment : Responsible for actuarial reporting and analysis for all Life products and regulated entities at a group level for all reporting basesProduce MI relevant to area of responsibility, including monthly inputs into Group Performance Pack, information for the Group ALCO Pack and daily solvency estimatesTo address ad-
  • hoc requests from the management and regulators involving solvency estimates, impacts and sensitivities

  • To deputise for the Finance Controller as needed through quarterly valuation and reporting process and present key reports on solvency and financial performance to the Audit Committee
  • Monitor regulatory and market developments and assess their impacts on team
  • Promote good risk management practices and ensure all applicable to firm policies are followed by the team
  • Be responsible for providing technical support and coaching to qualified and part qualified professionals, to ensure that the highest standards are achieved within the department and an attitude of continuous personal development is adopted
  • Looks beyond existing methodologies to define and resolve complex problems
  • Provide input into Finance Strategy and contribute to development of Finance plan including project activity
  • Ensure that effective relationships are established and maintained with other business areas across the firm and externally where necessary
  • Embed and drive continuous improvement across Finance and the firm more broadly
  • Be responsible for managing, coaching and development of team members utilising the firms performance management system
  • To provide advice and make recommendations on the implications of business decisions on key internal and regulatory metrics

  • Strong pc, excel and financial systems experience
  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience in actuarial reporting and / or capital management
  • Good working knowledge of Solvency I (Peak 1, Peak 2 and Pillar2), Solvency II and IFRS reporting processes with management expertise in at least one of these areas
  • Experience and knowledge of analysing changes in Pillar 2 and Solvency II capital and knowledge of with-profits business is an advantage
  • Good understanding of the UK financial services market and economic environment
  • Significant leadership experience
  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience in actuarial reporting and / or capital management
