Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to become the Tax Manager for Argentina and Chile for Philips in Latam.

By joining Philips as a Group Tax Country Tax Manager you will be the center of expertise for tax matters in the countries of Argentina and Chile in Latam Market, operating in close cooperation with Group Tax, business and external partners, as well as other Group areas (Treasury, AccOps, Legal, M&A, , IT ).

This role requires knowledge and experience on tax regulations and international tax matters, including accounting, together with tax processes and tools, combined with team building, management skills and continuous improvement mind set.

You are responsible for :

  • Ensuring Tax compliance and assurance, tax accounting processes and reporting in-house or together with external service providers;
  • Deploying fiscal regulation as applicable and relevant to Philips businesses / Group Tax and advising local management on tax-related matters - in order to optimise its application (maximise savings) whilst being compliant with tax regulatory;
  • Developing and implementing tax strategy, processes, policies and guidelines for Philips in the relevant countries (ARG / CL).

  • Deliver tax savings initiatives to create long-term value for Philips;
  • Lead and support tax audits and tax litigation. Represents Philips towards Tax offices.

    Create tax awareness and sensitivity to protect tax positions

    Tax mainly relate to Corporate Income Tax (incl. transfer price), Tax Accounting, Turnover Tax (VAT) and other taxes. Tax matters cover the tax regulatory of the Latam market as applicable to Philips businesses.

    As Country Tax manager you will be responsible for tax topics in Argentina and Chile.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience :

  • Bachelor / Master in tax education with at least 5 years’ relevant experience;
  • Well versed in local tax regulations and experience with international tax matters as well as in statutory accounting and understanding of IFRS;
  • Excellent interpersonal, management and negotiation skills; team player; capacity to influence multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Initiating / supporting automation of tax processes, automation is playing an incremental role in the tax environment.
