Edrans is hiring a Sysadmin / Site Reliability Operator (SRO) to join our Site Operations team. As a Site Reliability Operator (SRO), you will work as an individual contributor delivering exceptional customer experiences and leading the implementation of critical features to accelerate the delivery of our client's products -

both on the web and mobile.

You will have daily exposure to a range of technical challenges and customer experiences which will stretch and develop your technical and leadership skills.

Impact you will make in the role :

  • Develop our client's next generation GovTech platform.
  • Migrate Windows platforms to Linux (CentOS) from a current 90% : Linux / 10% : Windows relation to a 60 / 40 relation, to guarantee full availability and top performance of the platform.
  • Support and maintenance as well.

  • Development and implementation of new IT infrastructure monitoring systems.
  • Continuously refine monitoring processes, thresholds, and configurations.
  • Being able to follow incident management procedures in production environments.
  • Understanding Root Cause Analysis determination and timeline creation.
  • Create and maintain documentation on installations, incidents, and procedures.
  • Perform system wide analysis to ensure the proposed solution is the best-in-class without causing any negative impact.
  • You will be :

  • Working closely with a cross-functional team of SREs, DBAs, developers, and Engineers to ensure the reliability of the platform.
  • Participate on an Agile team, with daily scrum meetings, as well as planning and grooming meetings
  • Developing your monitoring skills by using different monitoring tools.
  • Monitor specific metrics for availability, latency and overall system / App health.
  • Interacting with Cloud Services from Azure.
  • Working on Windows platforms and Linux platforms.
  • Troubleshooting over different systems and applications.
  • Looking to automate tasks in order to reduce toil and increase engineering work.

  • Expertise you will bring in :

    System Administrative :

  • Windows Server (Preferred)
  • Cloud Provider :

  • Azure, as all workloads are in this platform.
  • Development :

  • Experience using at least one programming language : Python, Go, Java or Ruby.
  • Systems Monitoring :
  • Application monitoring, Troubleshooting, Log analysis, Analyze System Metrics.
  • Ability to remediate problems, manage escalations.
  • Monitoring graphing metrics and alerting services.
  • Create, edit and maintain operating system native scripts :
  • Windows Server : Power Shell (Preferred)
  • Linux : Shell (csh, bash, etc)
  • Others :

  • Experience installing and managing web servers (preferably RedHat JBoss)
  • An understanding of networking concepts of DNS, routing, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Experience managing Active directories.
  • Soft Skills :

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn from others and share knowledge within teammates.
  • Has the ability to rapidly self-educate on new concepts and tools as also being actively searching for increase self-knowledge.
  • Eager to automate repetitive tasks and improve processes.
  • Its required :

  • Availability to travel at least 1 month to USA.
  • Advanced English (writing and speaking skills) is required to communicate with technical teams and customers.
  • Availability to work from Tuesday to Saturday, or Sunday to Thursday (with Saturday and Sunday homeoffice), and National holidays (homeoffice)
  • Shifts : Morning (from 6 or 7 am), Afternoon (from 15 or 17 pm) with 9 hour shift and Night (starting at 23 pm or 00 with an 8 hour shift).
  • Its a PLUS! :

  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure orchestration software such as Puppet or Ansible (Preferred).
  • Basic experience in on-premise infrastructure management and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Experience in tracking problems with ticketing systems. Jira service desk (Preferred).
  • Basic knowledge on Containerization Software - Docker Engine.
  • English Certifications, driver's license, U.S. Visa or European Passport are a big plus.
