Within the CIB, the Leveraged Credit Risk group is responsible for managing a credit portfolio of non-investment-grade client exposure generated by lending, trading, cash management and other activities.
The group is organized by geography with teams aligned by industry.
New members joining the team develop the analytical skills needed to evaluate, assess and document client creditworthiness as well as structure and negotiate new leveraged transactions.
The group leads the client credit relationship in partnership with CIB marketing teams from IB Coverage, Corporate Banking, Leveraged Finance, Debt & Equity Capital Markets, Securitized Products, Sales & Trading and Treasury & Security Services.
Working on transactions that involve new debt facilities for leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, acquisitions and general corporate purposes
Participating telephonic diligence meetings
Preparing and presenting credit approval memos as well as reviews on existing client facilities, by
Managing an assigned credit portfolio by staying current on industry trends, portfolio performance, compliance with covenants, potential risks and opportunities
Monitoring, investigating and escalating risk metrics associated with client activity
Preparing and presenting periodic portfolio and industry reviews to senior credit executives and business partners
Skill Requirements / Competencies

Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work well in a team environment
Professional work experience in financial services (preferred)
Credit risk management experience (preferred)
Corporate finance and accounting coursework
Strong sense of accountability and ownership of tasks
Interest in client interaction with strong verbal and written communication skills
Capable of understanding, describing and debating complex concepts
Ability to perform well under pressure in a demanding environment managing multiple tasks at the same time
Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word software
Strong attention to detail
