ICT assistants at this level will carry out a wide range of procedural activities in support of ICT to ensure effective communications with departments / divisions / other agencies of the United Nations System and efficient provision of support to other UNICEF ICT staff.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Provide first level support including receiving, processing and logging of service requests in the service management tool.
Operate and contribute to maintaining the physical and logical security of the technological infrastructure.
Provide conference / event support with ICT and audiovisual equipment when requested.
Provide first level technical support to UNICEF users and United Nations System Agencies, hardware updates, printer configuration, notebooks and all other ICT equipment.
Provide effective support for the implementation of ICT initiatives.
Support in the maintenance of ICT inventories, manuals and other documentation.
This may require the owner to lift, move, mount, or store the equipment. Install, update, configure and maintain (preventive and corrective) systems and equipment.
Minimum ICT administration :
The ICT Assistant is responsible for specialized support related to routine ICT activities that require a thorough understanding and application of the documentation and functionality of technology equipment, operating system, and computer systems.
Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports produced in a timely manner for use by the ICT area.
Record activities and life cycle of support requests in the service management platform.
Assist in the coordination of training workshops to develop the capacity of end users or to introduce new solutions and services, organization and implementation of capacity development and knowledge management initiatives to improve the competencies of the personnel in matters related to technology.
Keep users informed of the status of their calls as appropriate.

Education : Complete secondary education is required and it will be valued if it is complemented with formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, and Computer Engineering.
Work experience : A minimum of five years of practical information technology work experience is required. Experience is required in assisting users on ICT products and services, and the use of diagnostic tools and applications.
Practical experience in using Microsoft platforms (Office, SharePoint, Teams) is required. Practical knowledge and experience in hardware maintenance is required.
Previous experience in support of computer networks and computer systems / platforms is required.
Languages : Fluency in Spanish and knowledge of English are required. Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian) will be valued.
