The opportunity

This role will establish a trusted relationship between the Financial Analysis Manager and Indirect Tax Business Leaders , understanding stakeholder needs and teaming with other BMO team members to bring best in class analytical support, functional expertise and reporting solutions.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist the ATTG Finance Manager, ATTG Vendor Manager and ATTG Capacity Manager in all the processes the team lead needs to provide insights to the business : weekly and monthly Indirect tax portfolio performance review, strategic and financial planning processes, business modeing, plan to actuals reporting, variance and ad hoc analysis
  • Oversee key Indirect Tax Projects and provide timely status update to portfolio leadership
  • Explain variances in performance compared to plan figures, both from a financial and business perspective
  • Deliver weekly and monthly performance reporting for Indirect Tax business, adding insight, financial analysis and commentary.
  • Maintain a robust month end reporting process, and ensure commentaries are timely, insightful and action oriented.

  • Take part in month end financial activities such as accruals, invoice processing, journal entries, etc.
  • Support portfolio specific procurement needs for software licenses and services by going through EY specific intake process, seeking necessary financial approvals and ensuring a Purchase Order is issued once contract is executed
  • Support Indirect Tax portfolio tracking of team resources, including monitoring of labor pricing models, rate changes, utilization metrics, etc.
  • Respond to requests from Finance and Service Line Leadership to answer specific ad hoc financial questions and provide insightful information to advance leadership discussion and decision making.
  • Support the design and delivery of ad hoc financial analysis. Ability to model projections, identify trends and issues that need to be analysed and understood.

  • Take part and lead planning / forecasting processes. Support on-time completion of the various Plan and Forecast planning cycles, ensuring outputs align to the objectives set at the Tax Finance and Indirect Tax levels.

  • Support and assist the business in improving their insights into business performance
  • Take part in improvement projects regarding processes, procedures and systems

  • Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration or similar combined with +10 years of experience in a professional atmosphere in a finance / business capacity with at least 7 years of analytical, forecasting and budgeting experience
  • It is expected that this individual works with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work in a virtual global organization respecting international cultures and speaking / writing English fluently
  • Be proficient or trainable in complex aspects of financial software packages, including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Share Point, Power BI and MS PPM is a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Ability to gain respect of both the finance community and client serving teams
  • Good presentation, leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and listening skills
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs to keep the project plan accurate, updated, reflective of authorized project changes as defined in the change management plan, and facilitate customer acceptance
  • Exposure to project management principles and methodology
  • Travel may be required based on business need
