The Employee and Labor Relations Manager is required to manage, implement and oversee numerous activities and projects simultaneously as well as contributing to the strategic direction, mission statement and vision of the Global Employee Relations function and help drive forward the overall HR strategy for the Brambles Group.
The primary purpose of the role includes consulting and providing guidance to leadership and employees with regard to company policy, practices and Latin American employment and labor laws;
conducting internal workplace investigations; creation of ER policy and training and acting as local contact and ambassador on local data protection matters.
Part of the role includes coordinating employment and labour relation activities with Field HR in Latin America and providing direction and support to employees, supervisors and managers across the region ensuring that the HR service support delivery model meets client needs by acting as liaison between the HRBP and field employees and the Shared Services team.

Major / Key Accountabilities
Act as a strategic partner in providing employee and labor relations advice, support and guidance with respect to collective agreements, employee representative bodies (such as works councils, trade unions etc.
policies and legislation interpretation / compliance to assist all divisions in achieving their operational goals Assist in collective bargaining agreement negotiation, bargaining and contract implementation
Conduct labor grievances and arbitrations of employee complaints pursuant to collective bargaining agreement
Managing complex and sensitive employee and labor relations issues, such as complex performance management matters, grievances and disciplinaires, overseeing investigations and employee terminations
Lead engagement with employee groups and union representatives that focuses on communication, planning and problem solving to ensure excellent employee and labor relations.
Supports HRBPs in developing strong partnerships and human resources solutions that support operational objectives and aligns with company values
Engage with employees and leadership to conduct ER related assessments and investigations, and discuss continuous improvement opportunities
Developing, implementing and maintaining HR policies across the Key Market to ensure their consistent application for fairness and equity in the organization and to promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance with regard to company policy and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training
Identify development opportunities and coach company leaders in order to increase their managerial and leadership effectiveness
Create, revise and implementation of ER policy & program initiatives
Collaborate with other HR functional team members through a consultative approach to help assess organization effectiveness, develop, and implement integrated HR action plans
As requested, work with Manager Field HR to assess and optimize processes and services
Analyze ER data / metrics for themes, trends and root cause identification. Share findings with key partners in order to develop and deliver an integrated plan that link to organization and people strategies, helping advance the deliverables and priorities of the Company
Manage any local Speak Up claims
Deliver relevant business solutions, tools, and resources to support and positively shape the employee experience
Create summaries and other documents related to the ER function. Assist with project work as needed to include training, facilitation of classes, research, and other projects that support the business
Serve as a role model, and demonstrate the value proposition for diversity and inclusion, to include organizational vibrancy and advocating the Company’s culture and heritage
Partner closely with HR Business Partners, and other HR functional teams in order to drive work
Support Employee & Labor Relations Manager, Canada & LATAM, in developing strong partnerships and human resources solutions that support operational objectives and align with company values
Act as local data protection contact and liaise with the wider ER function and Global Privacy Team on local data protection queries
Bachelor Degree in law, business, industrial labor relations, human resources, and / or equivalent work experience.
Legal (Labor Law) or HR Certification
Experience with Case Management software
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in conducting internal employee relations investigations
Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience or in a professional level role in a unionized & non-unionized environment Relevant leadership and coaching experience
Proven experience in managing multiple projects with strong time management and prioritization skills
Strong understanding of all aspects of Latin America labor, employment and human resources related laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts and practices
Proven experience and strong understanding of continuous improvement and measurement processes
Proven experience working in multi-site locations
Strong understanding and ability to work in a matrix structure
