What youll do :
The Data Acquisition Specialist is responsible for review, standardization, and application of consumer and business transactional data to the Abacus Cooperative Database.
Primary responsibility for this role is to review client files and ensure consistent and accurate standardization of these files for loading.
This role is not a programming role but will work closely with Data Acquisition directors and Client Programming to ensure that the converted data structure meets outlined requirements.
This role supports a productionized modeling / list fulfillment environment and requires ability to keep projects moving at a fast pace.

Bachelors Degree preferred.
Computer Skills : demonstrated comfort and proficiency working in Windows, GUI, and Command Line interfaces such as Unix.
Understanding of basic file formats, conditional logic, file segmentation and data structure, including use of referential keys and ability to interpret data structures (hierarchical, relational, etc)
Ability to interpret and create file layouts, generate and interpret data field reports and quantify data variations, interpret specific requirements for data processing and create coding instructions for the Client programming team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience or ability to work in a Unix environment
Experience with transactional marketing databases or data processing is desirable.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and customer service skills are required. Data processing skills desired.
Position demands computer literacy, adaptability, attention to detail and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
Individual is required to be self-motivated and at the same time be able to also work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.
