About the Mercury Support Team (MST)As an organization jointly owned by the business and IT, the MST is a centralized and global organization which will provide operational support for the delivered Mercury SAP solution and manage and support the Mercury user community.
The MST will play an integral role in governance of the Mercury SAP solution and the global template from both a business and IT perspective.
This team works closely with the business in enabling the benefit and value to be realized and to set the future direction and technology road map to support Vision 2020. Job Summary :
Technology Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple projects in support of improving and maintaining the Mercury production landscape with respect to infrastructure technology.
This position will require strong project management, infrastructure technology understanding, consulting, communication and IT operations skills.
Will act as a point of contact for infrastructure improvement projects. Provide operational support for Mercury infrastructure systems and support teams to ensure system availability per our agreed SLA’s and implement proactive measures to reduce the number of unplanned outages.
The Infrastructure Project Manager works with the Environment team and hosting teams for the improvement of the overall Mercury landscape, including the successful project planning, scope creation, build execution, budgeting, reporting and project close for specific Mercury infrastructure environments to support both deployment and operations activities related to the ongoing improvement of the environments.
The Infrastructure Project Manager will be accountable for MST specific Environment improvement and program management of infrastructure projects, while also working with leadership on identifying future strategic initiatives.
The Infrastructure Project Manager will be required to continually review and update service improvement program budgets, milestones, and weekly reports, while also owning the delivery of those projects to completion.
Although not expected to be technically hands on around configuration and build, a technical background is a must to provide experience with regards to the challenges that will be faced.
Adherence to protocols, governance and best practice must be demonstrable by this individual. The Infrastructure Project Manager will work closely with Environments and Infrastructure Operations Management to ensure project requirements are planned and coordinated effectively as part of the overall release schedule and in adherence with the release calendar that must be co-
developed with between the Mercury program and the MST.
Essential Functions of the Job :
Responsible for defining, documenting, driving, reporting, and managing SAP production infrastructure improvement projects as a delivery leader, and operational acceptance of solutions deployed into production.
Ultimately accountable for budget and execution of infrastructure service improvement projects.
Proven track record in project management of infrastructure for highly-complex and integrated applications and environments, with a demonstrable track record in planning, co-
ordinating and preparing environments in a safe, effective and documented manner while limiting risk to production environments.
Good knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle. Understanding of Environment Management, specifically for complex SAP implementations with dual paths to production.
Extensive experience working with 3rd party vendors as service providers.
Proven experience with a Fortune 500 company working in a global environment.
Excellent PM skills with all phases of a project or program.
Experinece updating and driving RAID items.
Good knowledge of Service Management tools and, more specifically Change and Release Management tools.
Maintain tight linkage with Strategy and Architecture for the future development of tools and technology improvements.
Manage internal issues escalated from the team to remove barriers preventing them from performing their assigned activities.
Initiating Service Improvement Programs for the Technology Infrastructure team.
Identify process and work activity improvements for areas indirectly related to Mercury infrastructure, while processing and coordinating efforts to produce effective and consistent results.
Manage issues escalated from other functions or groups as assigned.
Act in a consultant / SME capacity for IT Program Management functions regarding the Environment Management process.
Protect the IT Services managed environments from unauthorized changes.
Enforce compliance of defined processes (implementation, assessment, quality etc.)
Attend the Release Review Board (RRB) for Mercury and participate in the IT Services CAB as required.
Work closely with key IT Services functions to ensure alignment and synergy.
Provide quality metrics and reporting for programs as assigned.
Chair high impact Post Implementation Reviews (PIR) meetings with the required stake holders to identify what went wrong during the implementation of failed changes / project releases.
Provide recommendations and / or define actions to prevent reoccurrences of similar errors / Incidents
Liaise with MST and other technology teams for upgrades and patches weekly as necessary.

Significant experience of Service Management, Change and Release Management and Quality Management techniques gained through IT program / project delivery and in an IT support environment
Experience managing and driving RAID items
Experience of working within multi-location teams
Experience of working in large programs of work
Experience of leading small teams in project delivery
Experience in client-facing roles within blue chip organizations.
Experience of driving programs with multi-location teams
Ability to build good relationships both within own team and with other teams

Minimum of 8 years IT related experience
Approximately 7 years’ experience in an IT Project Management related role
One or more professional certificates to supplement formal education preferred
Experience of having worked on large, global IT infrastructure deployment programs including preparing for go-live and supporting the immediate post go-live period
ITILv3 certification is a plus
SAP experience desired
IT infrastructure knowledge demonstrated ability to coordinate / lead multiple projects / activities with competing priorities.
Understand service models and ability to prioritize based on impacts to business operations
Supervision Responsibilities :
Supervise project staff members in operations and support, and delivery of systems to business and or technical requirements as needed
Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of assigned project team members and / or business representatives as appropriate
Set priorities for the project team to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors as needed
Take accountability for the performance and results of the project team
Adapt project plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Other Requirements :
National and international travel may be required. Up to 25% travel is necessary for this job function as a manager.
