Cloud Engineer - Fusion Middleware / Weblogic / SOA Suite
Work with Oracle Custom Application and Database team on the shared full stack cloud engineering and migration. The team member will focus on helping customers determine the solution requirements and help move custom applications leveraging Oracle database onto Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The team member will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production WebLogic and Fusion Middleware applications with cloud database services.
Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability according to customer requirements. Partner with product development and marketing teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide development teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical customer issues as a customer first moves onto Oracle’s cloud. Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Identifies solutions to knowledge of server hardware and software configuration, networking, standard internet services, scripting languages, cloud computing patterns, technology security and compliance.
Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. Design and develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent or related technical field with 10+ years of experience
System Engineer with extensive experience in
o Oracle Fusion Middleware Migrations from On-Prem to Cloud
o Installing and configuring WebLogic domain
o Installing Fusion Middleware patches, service packs etc.
o Applying utilities like WebLogic.Admin, WebLogic, Deployer etc.
o Oracle DB Fundamentals
o Fusion Middlewae Administration Experience on 11 & 12 version
o Exposure to Oracle Fusion Middleware – WebLogic based products
o Experience in Performance monitoring and tuning of the above areas
Experience in Building and managing Linux OS systems with good understanding how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network,…etc) and ability to read and understand source code
Experience in Building and managing Virtualized systems (KVM, OVM, Containers/Docker) and ability to read and understand source code
Very strong troubleshooting skills of JAR, EAR, WAR etc

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
