As a Laboratory Calibration Technician, you will be working under minimal supervision to follow procedures closely in the Quality Manual.

You will test, create calibration plan, conduct repair measuring, and also identify instruments used in the laboratories in compliance with established government, commercial and organization standards.

Building and assembly of equipment, verifying and accepting the calibration certificates from the External Certification Center will also be part of your day to day.

Responsibilities

  • Create / follow up calibration plan and maintain laboratory instrumentation and apparatus
  • Determine accuracy of instruments and the measurement uncertainty for equipment and their calibration. When necessary, adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet more complex requirements.
  • Develop internal procedures for laboratory equipment verification and maintenance
  • Manage the scheduling of the calibrations, maintenance and update applicable systems based on company procedures
  • Send the test equipment to external calibration lab according to plans
  • Define the engineering units, ranges, and / or acceptance criteria of instruments to be externally calibrated based on manufacturer’s equipment specifications, standard requirements and / or accreditations
  • Assure the calibration quality of test results and verify competencies of employees using the various instruments and apparatus
  • Set up equipment for testing
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Qualifications

    Successful candidate should ideally have a High vocational in Electrical or Electronics or Electrical Instruments (Equivalent to an Associate Degree) in a related discipline with 4 years or more related work experience.

    An effective Laboratory Calibration Technician at UL Thailand should have the ability to compose reports and business communications, present information to individuals or small groups of internal or external clients.

    You should also be able to read and interpret documents like operations, maintenance and procedure manuals, understand and adhere to the instructions that are furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

    You should also be able to solve complex problems involving several variables. Working knowledge of all field or laboratory test equipment and standards or procedures in assigned technical areas, as well as principles of measurement uncertainty should be demonstrated.
