Our Client is a prestigious Italian company, world’s leading wine producer, well known for the quality of the products all over the world.
We have been entrusted with the search of the
Brand Ambassador / Area Manager Export - North America - Rif. H18488 Location : New York or USA territories
The Brand Ambassador works with the Director N. America in supporting the US Importer and Canadian Agent, in the presentation, promotion and sales of the 4 brands through the distribution networks, specifically with trade, opinion leaders and, where appropriate, to the end consumer.
Contribute to the implementation of the marketing plan in US and Canada, travelling to local markets, training distributors sales teams, attending trade and consumers’ events.
Participate in the creation of the trade marketing action plan with the importers in line with the strategic objectives of each brand.
Represent the brands during events and training programs to increase brand presence and impact.
Control results & execution of planned activities for designated markets with monthly reporting to Director N. America.
Ensure that the importer and distributor adhere to quarterly depletion goals in accordance with the agreed sales budget and plan.
Keep updated with competitor activities in the market :
Establish solid and long-term relationships with key distributors and key accounts.
Achieve maximum brand focus with distributors by defining the necessary actions
Provide input to the Director N. America to ensure the best allocation management and distribution of all wines.
Channel all KEY communication between Brand management and Importer / s assuring correctness and timeliness.
Maintain and improve on the quality of the cooperation between the Brands and the distributors in the designated markets.
Provide timely support, reporting & information for the programmes in US & Canada.
at least 5 years professional experience in wine trade areas (distribution, on-trade, off-trade, auctions, multiple is a plus);
Either a business and marketing background with experience of working with US Importers, Distributors, Auction Houses, or from a hospitality environment (Sommelier degree) with relevant experience in managing fine wines and their customers;
Strong International wine knowledge required, must have the credibility and comfort to discuss the best wines in the world;
Possibly Bi-lingual English & Italian (a third language a plus preferably French);
Initially based in New York, available to possibly move to west coast;
Service oriented but with a clear business sense;
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and confident when speaking in front of others;
Inquisitive, rigorous, organised and always looking to improve / learn.
Excellent personal presentation the candidate will have to represent the company with multiple audiences at all levels (distribution, trade, private customers)
Position requires extensive travel, at least 50% of the time, as well as overseas trips to the estate in Italy (at least 2 / 3 times per year).
NB : The position will begin as a Brand Ambassador but could evolve to an Area Manager position with direct geographical responsibility.
