What is expected from the Rise with SAP Business Development ?

So, the right candidate for the RISE S / 4HANA - Cloud Business Development role must have proven sales and or business development experience, orchestrating a virtual team of diverse contributors towards a common goal, driving a multi-million dollar license business under a subscription type of model, leadership in infrastructure sales, and domain knowledge in the areas of our cloud intelligent suite, in particular in RISE with SAP and S / 4HANA Cloud.

As a fundamental piece of business development, the candidate will push the RISE with SAP Demand Generation in a continuous process - a set of planned and interconnected activities that consume distributed resources towards the achievement of specific intermediate goals in defined dates.

The successful achievement of those intermediate goals - demand generated in CRM / Harmony - is essential to keep the health of the RISE with SAP business in the form of sustainable R4Q coverage.

The measurement of success determined through subscription revenue and pipeline performance metrics (4x pipeline coverage, progression and quality).

Demand Generation, Sales Strategy and Execution :

Define and execute the sales strategy for the MU, working along the S / 4HANA SWAT leader

Assist the S / 4HANA SWAT leader in the MU with a robust view of R4Q pipeline health by monitoring quarter per quarter targets and coverage multipliers in all customer segments

Total pipeline, opp losses, average deal sizes, exclusion from pipeline, root causes, business impact

Accountability versus responsibility : call attention to the problem and engage stakeholders who act on issues

Lead the MOVE program for the MU

Identify pipeline risk areas - segments / quarters in which additional DG is recommended

  • Manage and / or be aware of the inventory of DG plans impacting the MU coming from different sources (MSO, PSO, Sales, ICA) and levels (global, regional, MU);
  • complement plans with a view of people and areas accountable for execution of each DG activity

    Follow up on initiation and execution of each planned activity - if / when started, stakeholders involved, targets achieved by touching base and supporting execution stakeholders (channel heads, PBMs, ICA, Sales)

    Maintain a specific cadence of progress review with the S / 4HANA SWAT and DG teams at the regional level - regional support, best practice sharing and escalation channel

    Build a 3-year business to maintain a market leading position and sustainable growth, including migrating the SAP ERP footprint to the cloud both as well as in accounts who do not use SAP.

    Build a world class of partners and specialist sales team with the industry’s best sales talent with domain expertise

    Define the sales strategy to acquire net new logos at scale

    Define and execute a GTM that builds 4x pipeline cover, drives pipeline progression & quality through systematic sales initiatives

    Channel & Partnering :

    Define the volume sales approach for the domain to be executed through the SAP channel in collaboration with the SAP Ecosystem and Inside Sales teams

    Manage the relationship with Hyperscalers and Cloud Partners

    Build and scale a sales model in the Mid Market segment to drive existing and net new sales

    Specific areas of specialization :

    Experience in Cloud in the B2B environment.

    Proficient understanding of SAP, its products and solutions, partners, markets - or competition.

    Understanding of cloud, SaaS / PaaS models, cloud-based commerce / business networks.

    Strong knowledge of best business practices and financial theory and analysis.

    Customer-facing experience (sales / business development / consulting / presales)
