Position overview

The Field Application Specialist is responsible for giving technical support, training, installations and demonstrations in Microbiology in the Clinical sector.

By working in close relation with the Channel Sales Manager, the Field Application Specialist delivers high technical and scientific support to microbiology Thermo Fisher products users.

The ultimate objective is to exceed customer satisfaction using the Oxoid / Remel / Trek product portfolio in the clinical sector at the microbiology laboratories.

Responsibilities

Build a strong relationship with existing microbiology customers by providing high level technical support. Identify new existing customers’ needs and propose convenient and suitable solutions.

Pre-sales responsibilities, in coordination with the Channel Sales Manager, to include customer demonstration and proactive protocol implementation and development.

Post-sales support by performing installation and technical training for new customers. Provide customer satisfaction through complex application development, troubleshooting and diagnosis on microbiology for clinical applications.

Identify new market needs and ensure to transfer them to the upper management Write reports and track technical details using internal tools (CRM) Participate in regularly review business and technical meetings Participate in performing Inter-Laboratory studies in the context of international product validations.

Minimum qualifications

  • Master degree or comparable education in Microbiology.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in technical support.
  • High degree of technical competence and confidence. Ability to interface with the corresponding community of the markets to the highest level
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (50 - 75 %)
  • Computer and internet knowledge
  • Fluent English language skills - oral and written
  • Full and current driving license.
  • Preferred qualifications

  • Consistency, precision and listening skills
  • Desire to continuously improve and progress into new responsibilities
  • Ability to deal with demanding and stressful situations
  • Previous experience in a life sciences company.
