Distribution Manager Region South (Argentina, Chile & Uruguay) Argentina, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Supply Chain & Materials Management Requisition #2001897 The Distribution Manager will oversee operations of 3PL(s) supporting AbbVie South Region operations and ensure they comply with AbbVie business requirements (e.

g., Good Distribution Practices including temperature control / cold chain, reporting, key performance indicators, continuous improvement).

A key objective of this role will be to ensure customer requirements are consistently satisfied while complying with all internal AbbVie policies as well as local regulation laws while achieving performance targets related to inventory efficiency, on-time delivery, cost reduction initiatives and quality compliance.

To accomplish these core objectives, this role is responsible for day-to-day management of the Third Party Logistics provider(s) (3PL) distributing product for AbbVie in the countries, while aligning distribution processes and policies with those of functional partners at the affiliate (e.

g., Commercial, Customer Service, Finance Planning, Supply and Quality Assurance). The role also directly undertakes a range of operational activities related to warehousing and distribution.

Establish annual operating budget and measure financial performance with 3PL warehouse(s) in accordance with Integrated Planning and Logistics (IPL) and Affiliate Finance guidelines.

Champion of implementing standard processes / policies developed by the Integrated Planning and Logistics (IPL) and drives other activities necessary to achieve operational excellence in distribution and customer service.

Implement, support and document the Governance Model of the 3PL(s) leading Monthly Business Review (MBR) with each provider.

Lead QBRs supporting AbbVie and the 3PL(s) to obtain alignment on the strategy and ensure that targets are achieved for Warehousing and Distribution operations.

Monitor and provide feedback on 3PL performance. Lead the implementation of the Integrated Planning and Logistics (IPL) key performance indicators and ensure the monthly reporting requirements are met.

Support Customer Service and supply planning in responding to requests from internal and external customers to achieve organization goals.

Lead regional and global initiatives like Track & Categories program according to Integrated Planning and Logistics (IPL) strategy.

Core team member of Integrated Planning and Logistics (IPL) projects to review potential Bids or RFP's selection of global / regional logistics suppliers, regional or global projects, etc.

Responsibilities : + Main responsibilities for the South Region Distribution manager will cover Argentina, Chile and Uruguay Markets.

  • Implement, Support and document the Governance Model of the 3PL(s) leading Monthly Business Review (MBR) with each provider covering the standard agenda enriched with relevant topics.
  • Lead Quarterly business reviews as well supporting AbbVie and the 3PL(s) to achieve alignment on the strategy, outcome for the future and ensure that targets are met for Warehousing and Distribution operations.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on 3PL performance (e.g. on-time delivery, inventory accuracy). + Identify distribution-related risks and escalate to the appropriate IPL staff as needed.
  • Provide Root Cause analysis, trending and comments for performance and share with Global IPL. Review 3PL(s) performance gaps, root cause analysis and improvement plan(s).

  • Lead the implementation of the IPL KPI and ensure monthly reporting requirements are met. + Support sourcing and selection of local / regional 3PL(s) as needed.
  • Coordinate onboarding of new 3PL(s) (e.g., systems integration, scenario testing, process and policy training, Service Level Agreement reviews).

  • Coordinate with appropriate IPL COE staff and AbbVie functional partners (e.g., Finance) to set inventory policies that 3PL(s) must follow.
  • Perform activities in line with global and local financial policies, review on a regular basis inbound deliveries, outbound deliveries (returned goods), inventory by product and resolve discrepancies and returns.

  • Establish annual operating budget and measure financial performance through submission of monthly financial figures provided by the 3PL(s) in accordance with guidelines.
  • Promote, coordinate and lead gross margin improvement and saving projects that allow AbbVie to reduce overall logistics expense.

    Partner with 3PL(s) to find ways to improve Warehousing and Distribution processes to improve service levels to internal and external customers.

    Liaise with affiliates by capturing customer and patient requirements and support AbbVie commercial leads in making decisions on customer requirements in the countries under their responsibility.

    Champion implementation of standard processes / policies developed by the IPL COE and drive other activities necessary to achieve operational excellence in distribution and customer service while promoting the role of the CoE with Affiliate' leadership.

  • Review upcoming volumes, product launches, 3PL capabilities and future capacity needs, take the lead in coordinating activities and communication among the 3PL, Supply Planning and Customer Service teams.
  • Undertake analysis for new product distribution avoiding any delay in the distribution flow and where possible expedite the access to market e.

    g. warehouse preparation, special distribution requirement + Work with Global and / or Regional COE staff to drive process changes and Projects affecting AbbVie in the countries under his / her responsibility and / or its 3PL partner(s).

    Support Customer Service and Quality Assurance and Regulatory in responding to requests or complaints, escalate order issues as required, assist with asset tracking, traceability e.

    g. Support Finance teams with actual to budget spend analysis e.g.. Partner with Global IPL COE staff to plan and execute strategic projects involving distribution operations in the countries under their responsibility (e.

    g. track and trace, visibility, regional network analysis). + Identify distribution-related risks and escalate to the appropriate IPL COE staff as needed.

    Root Cause analysis, trending and comments for performance shortfall should be collected by the Distribution Manager and shared with Global IPL CoE.

    Review 3PL(s) performance gaps, root cause analysis and improvement plan(s). Partner with Global Process Lead for Supply Chain, Warehouse and Logistic staff to plan and execute projects affecting SAP, the interface in place with the 3PL and all the reporting tools.

  • Manage and report IPL KPIso Delivery reliability indexo OTIFo Inventory Accuracyo On time receiptso On time / In full shipmentso IPL costs / Sales + Work with Global and / or Regional IPL staff to drive process changes and Projects affecting AbbVie in the country under his / her responsibility and / or its 3PL partner(s).
  • Coach individuals in their personal and professional development Set yearly SMART goals and targets, review and provide support in line with AbbVie guidelines.
  • Work as liaison between the Regional Distribution Manager and Distribution Managers / 3PL(s) to communicate requirements and priorities.

  • Proficient in English (90% or above) + University degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field. Supply Chain postgraduate degree is a plus + 3 years of direct warehouse management experience and / or experience managing 3PL warehouse providers + 5 years of supply chain process experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills + Experience with SAP and / or common Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred + Knowledge of distribution channels and requirements is preferred + Pharmaceutical or Healthcare supply chain experience preferred + Some experience with training delivery preferred Additional Information + Travel : Yes, 15 % of the Time + Job Type : Experienced + Schedule : Full-time + Job Level Code : IC
