Purpose : The Associate Counsel will assist the Compliance and Law Manager for Argentina in managing all of the day-to-day legal matters, strategies and tactics associated with Amgen's operations in Argentina.

This dynamic position will provide broad based legal support services to Amgen Argentina's commercial, medical, regulatory and related business functions.

Reports to : + Directly reports to the Senior Counsel - LatAm, with a dotted line to the Compliance and Law Manager (Argentina).

Key Activities : + Provide strategic legal advice on all commercial matters to ensure that the organization's operations are conducted within the limits prescribed by law and local industry regulations.

  • Assist in negotiation and drafting of all contractual engagements, including HCPs and service provider agreements.+ Provide advice, guidance and support to the affiliate on the local laws and regulations, corporate law, data privacy, anti-trust, and other relevant legal areas.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations in the country and keep current with changes that may affect the affiliate's operations.
  • Support and advice local investigations.+ Provide legal advice on local labour matters.+ Carry out review of promotional and non-promotional material for compliance with applicable laws, regulations and / or industry codes of compliance.
  • Basic Qualifications Licensed lawyer practicing in Argentina, with a law degree from an accredited law school. Preferred Qualifications + 5 plus years of law practice at a top law firm and / or experience working in a legal department of a company in a regulated industry.

  • Experience in the life sciences sector reviewing promotional and non-promotional materials, but, in its absence, experience in other regulated industries.
  • General knowledge of regulatory and healthcare compliance issues, including interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent analytic, legal drafting, oral and written communication skills.+ Proven track record of ethical judgement, maturity, strategic planning, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while remaining self-aware of one's own limits and when escalation of matters is required.
  • Ability to work independently and also with, and presenting to, cross functional teams and clients.+ Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization, a positive attitude, strong commitment to ethical conduct, thoughtfulness as well as collaboration and creativity.
