  • What You Will Do :

    The Demand & Supply Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining high quality consensus demand plans for the organization by leveraging statistical analysis with the best available cross-functional inputs, and applying sound judgment based on knowledge of the business.

    They will also partner with local or regional sales and marketing partners and product launch teams to reconcile business objectives and strategies to support the creation of the final consensus demand plan.

    This position will facilitate or lead the Demand Planning process and monthly Demand Review meetings, coordinating / consolidating plans with other Demand Planners, to ensure the process is effective and runs efficiently.

    They will be responsible for ensuring proper and timely shipments of stock from manufacturing to shipment from origin (Central Distribution Centers and Manufacturing Distribution Centers) and for translating market requirements into purchase requirements (Purchase Orders), based on Demand forecasts They will act as a liaison to cross-functional senior management to provide education around the demand plan and its implications and risks, and provide monthly, detailed documentation of key assumptions.

    The key responsibilities include :

  • Create and maintain high quality Demand Forecasts and Demand Forecast analytics. Must assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating / maintaining the Demand Forecast, including historical order bookings / shipments, item master data, market and macro-economic trends, seasonality, promotions, and phase in / phase outs.
  • Serve as the primary DP contact for Marketing, Sales and Finance business partners and also for the Global Operations Integrated Business Planning Manager(s) for matters concerning demand planning for products.
  • Successfully lead cross-functional teams in the monthly DP working sessions and Demand Reviews of the Stryker Demand Planning processes
  • Represent the Demand Planning process, within Stryker’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, with a high-value contribution demonstrating thought leadership, creativity in solving problems and the ability to appropriately communicate and escalate issues as needed
  • Support execution of the product life cycle management process for all new product launches and product exits as it relates to the Demand Planning function.
  • Monitor SKU levels and recommend rationalization initiatives for future consideration to Divisional leadership.

  • Create reporting of analytics to support the business needs for better information in decision-making
  • Understand the corporate / departmental objectives for Demand Planning and insure adherence to established standard business and system processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in the development, modification and adjustment of procedures, policies, processes and technologies within the Demand Planning organization.
  • Improve the Demand Forecast quality by effectively analyzing sources of forecast metrics and recommending appropriate action plans.
  • Achieve or exceed the identified goals and KPI targets, supporting corporate / department goals and KPI targets as directed
  • Support training and education sessions as needed both within the DP team and across the organization as warranted
  • Awareness of industry best practices and the ability to advocate for and translate those into forecasting practices where appropriate
  • Be a role model to the department and organization for your work ethic, integrity, and team approach.
  • Ensure that all supply planning processes are running smoothly for the area of their responsibility
  • Use the company’s ERP system and tools available to better manage purchase orders to the internal vendors, inventory levels and in the end product availability.
  • To accomplish this, he / she needs to :

  • Ensure the order books are in sync across the stakeholders and deal with any discrepancies
  • Deal with Supplier Issues, Backorders and PO Invoices on Hold
  • Measure and manage supplier performance
  • Balance excess inventory across various warehouses to ensure optimum inventory levels and minimum idle stock per warehouse
  • Perform return to supplier (RTS) and scrapping exercises to get rid of idle stock which has been already reserved for
  • Ensure item master is properly maintained regarding Supply Chain parameters : supplier data, make-to-stock, make-to-order, and lead-time attributes
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Design Division Customer Service (plant), local Imports and Customer Service Team, providing feedback and support
  • Place Purchase Orders as per company guidelines and limits
  • Reporting (regular check / update) :

  • Review of missing / pending business requirements (Demand Plan / Sales Orders vs Stock)
  • Trigger the Purchase Order Placement
  • Report of Shipment Date of Purchase orders on vendor (order number)
  • Report of Shipment status & details on vendor
  • Follow up of Purchase orders on Back Order
  • Item maintenance (for Supply Chain attributes only)
  • Performance Parameters :

  • What you Need :

  • 2-5 years of related experience is required.
  • Experience in two or more of the following disciplines are required : Supply Chain Planning, Demand Management / Forecasting, Sales Operations / Planning, Marketing, Logistics, Inventory Management.
  • Statistical background is a plus
  • Business experience in the medical device or related industry or is preferred.
  • Background in new product introductions and supply chain metrics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP(Oracle) / SAP transactional data is preferred
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (business or MBA preferred) is required.
  • Must have knowledge of demand management / forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues.
  • Prior experience with demand planning tools like Oracle Demantra, Demand Solutions or i2 is a plus.

  • Specialized certification through accredited organizations such as APICS, IBF, or S&OP institute is preferred.
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in a second language at international divisions is a plus.
  • Excellent, demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of demand planning applications and how to apply them to a business
  • Ability for decision making, to work under pressure, and capacity to make good judgment in critical situations.
