The Role

Designs, develops, modifies, debugs and evaluates programs for functional areas. Analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flowcharting, performs coding and tests / debugs programs.

Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards.

Trains users in conversion and implementation of system.

The Main Responsibilities

Gather and understand business and user requirements in support of software purchases and software maintenance renewals

  • Analyze vendors' software terms and conditions to determine alignment with business and user requirements. Recommend terms and conditions that provide the greatest flexibility now and in the future;
  • ensure that language regarding license counts is clear and measurable

    Participate in high-performance negotiation strategy discussion teams with Legal, Sourcing, and client representatives when key licensing terms are involved

    Follow internal processes to regularly measure and document software license asset usage

    Process requests for desktop productivity software license requests including re-use vs buy decisions

    Perform data analysis and verification projects ensure license compliance, help clients get the best pricing, and establish appropriate levels quantities for renewals

    Participate in license alignment efforts to conclusion ensuring that the process aligns with contract rights and best practices.

    Educate internal clients on the VMO processes for purchasing software and renewing software maintenance

    Collaborate within highly interdependent teams and support team efforts to meet business objectives and service levels for desktop productivity software license requests

    Implement and influence others to adopt best practices for achieving Software Asset Management objectives; automate tasks to improve efficiency where appropriate

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience required; 4-6 years of related experience

    Master's degree preferred; 2+ years of related experience

    Preferred experience in

    contracts, software asset management,

    asset management tools, and software licensing - especially for desktop software (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe)

    Demonstrated negotiation skills through experience with high-value negotiations

    Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and presentation skills

    Ability to multitask by working in a face paced, constantly changing environment

    Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels

    Ability to efficiently utilize MS Office Suite of Applications specially Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Proven track record of achieving professional goals successfully
