Only Latam based applicants will be considered at this time open to working remotely from home if living in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cost Rica, Peru, Chile.

About the Role :

We are looking for a Site Operations Engineer to help maintain the availability and performance of our public-facing sites.

You will be the first line of response when issues arise on our sites (outages, performance, etc). You will also take an active role in capacity management during big events (flash / holiday sales, promotions, etc).

What You’ll Be Doing :

First-line response for site issues

Handle the incident management lifecycle, from triaging alerts, troubleshooting and escalating as needed, ensuring bugs and / or other issues are filed with the appropriate engineering teams, to facilitating retrospectives

Manage capacity before, during, and after big events, e.g., scaling services, queue configuration, and other traffic balancing techniques

Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers to ensure runbooks and SOPs are accurate and up to date

What We’re Looking For :

Experience in a NOC or other 24 / 7 frontline operation

Experience with time-series and monitoring systems such as Datadog, SignalFx

Experience with APM systems such as New Relic

Core Operations experience with Linux

Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef or similar)

Strong belief in driving operational excellence with owning efficiency and automation at the core of operations

Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, ELB, and RDS

Knowledge of ITIL incident management or similar frameworks

Solid understanding of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc.)

Experience with log aggregation and analytics systems such as SumoLogic or Splunk

Experience with traffic shaping methods like rate limiting and connecting limiting

Ability to work in shifts that cover weekends

Bonus if You Have :

Certifications in ITIL or AWS
