Levert is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Underground Mine Trainer to assist in the development of personnel on the underground mining team.
This position is in NORTHERN ONTARIO. This trainer will specialize in underground mobile equipment safety, operation and efficiencies.
Training consists of identifying the shortcomings in current operations and instructing operators in best practices with the goal of increasing mine-
site efficiency. Successful candidate will instruct by demonstrating proper procedures. The trainer will provide assistance in developing and maintaining training modules, maintain records of training conducted and submit reports to management on all training activities.
The mine trainer is responsible for the successful training of Mine Operations crews an Underground Mine.
Conduct classroom instruction and one-on-one training on equipment and tasks in both surface and underground environments.
Collaborate with the Underground Operations department to identify and develop training needs including new-miner and annual refreshers, proper utilization of equipment based on the application, improving operator efficiencies and auditing safe work practices.
Develop / procure training aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works.
Make necessary preparations for all classes including reserving rooms, equipment and vehicles necessary to complete training.
Attend vendor and training classes to keep up to date with changing technology, techniques, standards and equipment.
Perform quality and performance audits on assigned projects to ensure adherence to best practice and legislative requirements.
Ensure that underground employees have received proper training / accreditation for the jobs they perform.
Develop daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly plans.
Complete reports to a high standard of detail and quality.
Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations.
Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of underground mining equipment and mining techniques.
Jacklegs, Stopers, Hiab, LHD’s, Haul Trucks, Jumbo Development Drills, Production Drills, Light Vehicles, Loading, Loci, etc.
Fall Arrest, Lifting Equipment, Chute Operation, etc.
The ability to instruct and provide constructive feedback to trainees.
Must possess the ability to create in-house technical training modules for equipment operations.
The ability to multitask and proactively manage tasks and commitments.
Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
Accountable for your areas of operation, including training documents
Secondary School Graduation Diploma with 3 years of directly-related experience, or several years’ experience working in an underground mining environment.
Train-the-trainer certification (or ability to successfully pass examination).
First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor certification an asset.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite applications including Powerpoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
Proficient user of SAP software considered an asset.
Ability to plan and organize.
Ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment and its challenges.
