Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs.

Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Development Manager


Principal responsibilities

  • Generate and manage new business development initiatives for global trade and receivable finance (GTRF) as to grow the bank’s trade business in Argentina
  • Nurture existing commercial banking and global banking customer base and acquire new-to-bank business relationships
  • Provide technical expertise to front-line business development managers, assist in the structuring of bespoke GTRF solutions, and ensure the delivery of high quality customer experiences
  • Work closely with sales colleagues to influence and promote the awareness of GTRF products, strategies, and competitive landscape
  • Maintain awareness of the applicable regulatory and business environment, such as audit, tax, and legal implications; as well as changes that may affect the customers and the bank thus to provide necessary guidance to them wherever required
  • Develop an appropriate client plan to efficiently and effectively achieve goals and objectives, through consultative selling, design and implement innovative solutions for customer’s individual needs, generate quality referrals to and from other parts of the Group
  • Undertake professional presentations to customers in support of potential opportunities portraying HSBC in the best possible light against a backdrop of competition from local, regional, and global banks
  • Influence, maintain, and enhance the image of HSBC through planning and execution of conferences, industry sector days, client road shows, and other suitable events
  • Requirements

  • Solid banking experience with sound knowledge to GTRF products and the associating regulatory guidelines
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate banking, and trade and receivables finance; as well as their services, products, and selling techniques
  • Extensive knowledge of the financial market and its trend, the competitive landscape and regulatory environment locally, regionally, and globally
  • Broad knowledge of HSBC Group companies and product ranges
  • Strong sales management experience and ability to deal with senior executives
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, leadership, negotiation, analytical, presentation and decision making skills
  • Good organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with a customer driven approach
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish languages
  • Within HSBC certain roles are designated as Enhanced Vetting Roles. For these roles, all internal and external applicants are required (subject to local laws), to pass satisfactorily a series of additional checks both as part of the application process and, if successfully recruited into the role, on an ongoing basis if they remain in such a role.

    The enhanced approvals and vetting would need to be completed before the candidate will be confirmed in the role.
