Position Summary

The post-holder has responsibility for providing on-site, expert mental health support and counseling services to members of the NYUBA community (approximately 500 undergraduate and graduate students during the academic semesters and 150 students during January term and summer), and an ability to coordinate support for physical health issues.

The post-holder has responsibility for proposing, organizing, and implementing programs and services related to the mental and physical wellbeing of the student population.

The post holder will work with other professionals at NYUBA who are responsible for other aspects of student health including ensuring immunization compliance of the NYUBA population.

In close coordination with the Student Life team, the post holder will create and deliver health promotion and orientation programming related to wellness needs of NYUBA students and will deliver relevant wellness training to faculty and staff at NYUBA, including detecting students in distress, responding to matters of sexual misconduct, etc.

The post-holder works closely both with NYUBA colleagues and those based at NYU in New York City.

Required Education

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology or a Masters or Ph.D. in Social Work and must hold the proper license / accreditation to legally provide counseling services in Argentina

Required Experience

University counseling experience is preferred and knowledge of the US university system is desirable

  • Understanding and empathy with needs and expectations of international students;
  • Ability to gather and report information accurately, clearly and concisely;
  • Strong organizational ability
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent written & oral skills
  • Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.

    Additional Information

    Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work and live in Buenos Aires prior to appointment.
