The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas.
This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.
Within the Human Resources Law department, we are looking for an US Immigration Counsel to handle the different processes related to immigration of JPMC employees to the US, ensuring a first class service to the foreign nationals.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Advise and assist a sophisticated client base in a fast-paced environment, providing a high-level of service when responding to questions regarding immigration strategy, status updates, work authorization, next steps, and travel.
Initiate, develop and interface with a number of partners (recruiters, HR professionals, managers, foreign workforce and outside counsel) towards the preparation of government forms in support of various nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions
Maintain knowledge of all relevant immigration laws, practices and procedures and how they impact our workforce. Understand documentary requirements and filing procedures at Service Centers and US consulates
Prepare reports for both internal use and in response to requests by HR, recruiting and managers across all lines of business.
Perform compliance-related activities including quality control, docketing and data input.
Provide guidance to certain populations of business travelers to ensure immigration compliance
Law degree and membership in jurisdictional organization. Attorney candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment.
At least 1 year experience on immigration related matters.
Must have experience with the Microsoft Suite of applications, and with Excel.
Experience with LawLogix preferred.
