Financial Crime Risk aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively.

It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action.

It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Anti-Bribery and Corruptions Compliance Officer, Argentina Financial Crime Risk (6 Months Fixed Term Contract)

Category : ESPECIALISTA SANCTIONS & AB&C / JEFE DIVISION 3RA.

Principal responsibilities

  • Support the analysis for the fulfillment of internal and external requirements set by the Group policies and rules as well as those set by the regulators
  • Provide assessment and recommendation on AB&C (anti-bribery and corruptions) enquiries from internal stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Support internal and external audit and reporting activities
  • Check and ensure that the Company’s policies and procedures are complied with the latest regulatory requirements from local, regional, and global contexts
  • Ensure the Company comply with all global standards and external regulations
  • Keep up-to-date the latest trends in AB&C and issues
  • Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risk through the implementation of internal controls, and perform post implementation follow-up as appropriate
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities that arise as a result of business as usual activities, and scale them into senior stakeholders in the function to drive changes and enhancements
  • Proactively deepening the compliance culture within the Company in the AB&C risk
  • Requirements

  • Degree in business, economics, risk management, or a relevant discipline; with courses relating to AML, AB&C, Compliance and Ethics preferred
  • Extensive work experience gained from tier-one banking and financial institutions preferred
  • Certification in a professional associations swould be a clear advantage
  • Solid knowledge of issues relating to bribery and corruption
  • Good understanding of the different banking products, the financial markets, and current issues
  • Ability to research and look into the root cause of the problem then summarise and conclude the findings in a precise manner
  • Excellent English and Spanish language proficiencies
  • Very good interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trusted relationship with a wide range of people at different levels in the organisation
  • Within HSBC certain roles are designated as Enhanced Vetting Roles. For these roles, all internal and external applicants are required (subject to local laws), to pass satisfactorily a series of additional checks both as part of the application process and, if successfully recruited into the role, on an ongoing basis if they remain in such a role.

    Required Vetting Checks). Under the Company's internal 'Back to Front / Front to Back’ transfer policy this role may be classified as High Risk.

    As a result, internal candidates may require enhanced approvals and vetting checks if they are currently employed in a Front / Back Office department, or if they have worked in a Front / Back Office department within the last 5 years, (please refer to the HR FIM B2.

    The enhanced approvals and vetting would need to be completed before the candidate will be confirmed in the role.
