  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working within industry relations, partnerships, corporate communications, go-to-market strategy or sales.
  • Experience in the News industry.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Spanish fluently and idiomatically.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience in business development or partnerships.
  • Experience with partnering with industry associations and with news publishers
  • Experience leading cross-functional operational initiatives (e.g., OKRs, newsletters, etc).
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership by using presentations and briefing docs.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships, influence key decisions and drive urgency on key priorities.
  • About the job

    As a Industry Relations Manager, you will serve as an ambassador to the news industry and support efforts to grow Google’s relationship with key trade associations.

    It’s our job to partner with regional leads to support their efforts to connect with industry association leaders on priority issues to drive good outcomes for Google and for the industry.

    This will include supporting efforts to build joint business plans with key associations, developing sponsorship / engagement plans, and prioritizing our engagements.

    This role will allow you to work across virtually all of Google, match Google’s business and policy priorities to the priorities of the industry, and hone in on areas for strategic partnerships.

    The role necessitates working closely with cross-functional internal teams to drive progress, build consensus and communicate Google’s perspective to external partners.


  • Support regional leads' efforts with key news associations in the region, setting strategy for engagement.
  • Effectively prioritize news trade associations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal teams to stay coordinated on industry issues and highlight relevant opportunities for Google teams.
  • Create comprehensive joint partnership plans for each partner to optimize impact of partnerships.
  • Own cross-team focus area strategy to activate the industry and collaborate with respective team members to deliver on strategy.
