CORE and Global Services is a group of legal professionals working and supporting different legal areas such as Compliance, Regulatory Offerings, Ethics, Procurement, Corporate Matters and the Services Areas aligned with the new offerings and technologies such as Strategy & Consulting, Interactive, Technology, Security and Operations.
Ethics & Compliance (Trade Compliance) Role Summary - Provide support to Accenture's Global Trade Compliance Program and objectives, mainly focusing on export classifications, including export / cross border activities subject to applicable export control laws.
To handle responsibilities related to people and process management as required for the team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Generic Responsibilities+ Understands CORE area needs and priorities;
strategy, objectives, and opportunities + Good understanding of relevant company policies+ Enhance subject-matter expertise in the concerned support area + Act as a POC and escalation point for support area + Understand, suggest, and encourage process improvements in the support area+ Collaborate with LTO / CIO in development of new tool or enhancement of existing ones+ Drive the development of checklists and other process documents+ Ability to represent GLN;
directly liaison with internal stakeholders on various issues+ Supervise the maintenance & management of SharePoint and communication records+ Identify and drive trainings for the team for upskilling and professional development+ Support implementation of new initiatives in CORE support area or within Legal / GLN+ Build credible and effective relationships with onshore counsels and within GLN team+ Drive recruitment efforts for the team+ Effective management of direct reports and any assigned team;
quick conflict resolution+ Provide coaching and mentoring to junior members of the team+ Provide individuals with positive and developmental feedback+ Drive Talent Discussions for the assigned team / team members+ Proactively try to 'give back' to GLN / Legal.
Specific Responsibilities aligned to Role+ Support Trade Compliance counsel and team in tasks related to economic sanctions programs and other trade compliance matters which may or may not be limited to a particular Geo(s)+ Understand and stay up-to date on Trade Compliance Sanctions Programs constantly evolving laws and regulations to assist in AP1254 policy implementation and provide guidance to internal Legal, Business, Delivery and Finance teams to keep Accenture safe and compliant while conducting its services in complex geographies per trade compliance standpoint+ Evaluate and approve any exception requests on a Trade Compliance Plan raised by Legal and Business teams, involving sanctioned clients, providing specific legal and operational mitigation measures+ Lead and conduct internal due diligence activities regarding escalated incidents, to detect and prevent any potential vulnerabilities+ Assist Trade Compliance Senior Manager in sensitive matters including licensing requests and reporting activity before the US Government regulatory authority (OFAC);
Engage with external client s trade compliance teams, as required+ Perform upgraded Due Diligence and risk assessments using internal as well as third party tools, to make the best-informed decisions+ Provide regular reports and updates to the concerned Trade compliance counsel and team re processes and areas supported, highlighting concerns and trends+ Assist TC team with their queries regarding Accenture's Trade Compliance Program+ Support development and monitor implementation of Trade Compliance programs+ Deliver trainings to spread trade compliance related awareness amongst CM, Business, and regional stakeholders+ Recognize issues and provide timely escalation to Team Lead, TC Counsels, or appropriate stakeholders / players, in a precise and concise manner.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS : Education : + Bachelor's degree in Law.Certifications / Membership : + Compliance related global professional certification considered a plus.
Language : + Fluent in English (and other language, depending on geography supported).KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE : + Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience at law firm and / or as in-house counsel with involvement in various compliance areas;
experience in trade compliance, preferred+ Good experience in generic / legal research and report creation, including due diligence+ Demonstrate promptness, accuracy, and consistency with the activities supported+ Able to work with internal and external teams, and understands delivery requirements+ Experience in leading projects and teams on function specific processes+ Good understanding of Accenture offerings and function specific services performed+ Good understanding of commercial agreements, legal and compliance principles+ Good understanding of corporate business practices and contracting regulations+ Detail oriented, sound judgement, organized, and adaptable+ Proficiency in using MS Office applications (, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint)+ Comfortable with technology and has experience in using tools & databases.
