About the job

The Red Hat Tax team is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our Latin America (LATAM) team in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In this role, you will report to the LATAM tax manager and you will be responsible for the day-to-day tax accounting and compliance of Red Hat entities in multiple countries across LATAM.

You will efficiently use your tax experience while coordinating outsourced tax compliance services. To be successful as a Senior Tax Accountant, you’ll need to be able to work on your own and to communicate clearly and effectively with other groups, both inside and outside of the Finance team and Red Hat.

What you will do

  • Coordinate outsourced tax compliance activities in assigned jurisdictions
  • Review calculations and returns of direct, indirect and withholding taxes
  • Ensure that records are made in accordance with accounting principles and standards and relevant legislation, meeting the deadlines
  • Support management in coordinating with accounting and tax teams
  • Prepare year-end tax provision in coordination with the global provision team, including analysis of book and tax differences and return-to-provision analysis
  • Respond to notices and queries from tax authorities
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Coordinate closely with the Finance team on tax-related matters
  • Analyze and support legislative changes that might impact the business
  • Assist with tax aspects of business projects and other tax research as assigned
  • Assist with special projects of diverse scope and provide advanced tax support and guidance to other Red Hat’s teams
  • What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, law or equivalent related professional experience
  • 5+ years of tax consulting or compliance experience with a public accounting firm or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, including CPC, IFRS, and U.S. GAAP
  • Knowledge of LATAM tax legislation and tax matters
  • Fluent language skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with Oracle and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Solid interpersonal, written, and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Solid organizational and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
