POSITION SUMMARY :
Perform technical tasks, including written proposals, network design, engineering, and quotes. Must be able to communicate solutions to customers and work with internal CIENA organization!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient in use of Ciena Network design and modeling tools
Act as support to Subject Matter Experts with potential to become Specialist on application of CIENA solutions for next generation architectures
Prepare quotations and assist in proposal preparation for Optical switching, DWDM, Routing & Switching and software solutions
Prepare designs and applications presentations
Collaborate with sales group and product management / marketing to develop and / or propose product improvements to meet customer requirements
Build reports and make specific data analysis from the information available on the tools
Update technical documentation and diagrams of the projects
Performs other duties as assigned
Technical knowledge in some of these areas : Optical networking including understanding of SDH, Optical Switching, OTN, Metro and LH DWDM and Routing and Switching solutions (TCP / IP, MPLS, IGP, BGP, L2 / L3-VPN, etc.)
Good on verbal and written communications skills
Good on presentation skills
Understanding of telecommunications and data communications network architectures
Flexible, able to balance multiple tasks
Bilingual Spanish and English
Ability to understand customer needs and use technical expertise to develop customer specific solutions.
Ability to follow-up projects and take the lead for making things happen
Ability to develop customer relationships and work well with customers
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate or Technical Degree (desired); BSEE or relevant experience
At least 2 years in telecommunication industry experience
