This position will manage specific finance functions related to the analysis and reconciliation of payments for international accounts in order to maintain appropriate cash application and minimal unapplied cash.
The position will also reconcile withholding tax receipts and VAT (where applicable) and perform withholding and VAT (where applicable) adjustments and other miscellaneous write-offs.
The position also requires the daily identification and application of payments. Where payment details are not available the position must work with the Financial Service Representative(s) to obtain the payment application details.
The position requires interaction with franchisees in order to effectively reconcile withholding tax adjustments. In addition the candidate will be assigned a set number of accounts that they will be responsible for making collection calls, negotiating payment plans, and performing account reconciliations.
The position requires an understanding of withholding tax implications.
The position has full autonomy to process and reconcile withholding tax for individual accounts. Withholding tax write-offs processed by the Specialist are prepared independent of direction, but require manager approval.
Cash applications are performed with minimal supervision and no review prior to processing. For the collection calls the individual will work directly with franchisees, including negotiating payment plans and providing assistance in understanding financial obligations as described in the license agreement as it refers to invoices and procedures.
They will work to resolve outstanding balance accounts which directly impacts WHR cash flow. To be effective in the role the specialist must maintain an efficient workflow and be able to work independently, but also coordinate with other team members.
Scope / Financial Responsibility
The position is critical to timely processing of payments and write-offs, ensuring accounts reflect accurate amounts due, in turn impacting the collectability by the Financial Services Representative.
Failure to accurately and efficiently perform the job responsibilities will have a negative impact on cash collections, outstanding withholding tax & VAT (where applicable), unapplied cash, and levels of customer service as issues with accounts will rise.
Incorrectly processing tax adjustments has potential tax implications. The individual’s ability to effectively perform collection calls resulting in payment will have a direct on WHR’s financial performance.
